The big question is – how to clear acne fast? This is a thorny question posed by people of all ages, but perhaps mainly by teenagers.  Fortunately there are a number of acne treatment tips you should be doing on a daily basis to mimimise the incidence of acne flare ups. I know how embarassing acne spots and indeed acne scars are, especially in adolescents. Here, I offer five tips and hints, which if followed will allow you to take control of your acne. Start today and you will soon see a difference.

First of all we need to know – what exactly is Acne?  Also known as pimples, these are outbursts through our skin pores as a result of all the grime and dirt that has accumulated in the pores. It typically occurs during adolescent years (though it can continue into adulthood for a minority of unlucky individuals). It can present in anyone – male or female. Some are lucky and don’t seem to get acne at all, while others see ugly clusters of them on their face and neck. Normally these clusters will only last a couple of days, and then they disappear.  In extreme cases the acne may persist and leave behind acne scars.  This is of course a simplistic description of acne, but I’m sure you get the message.

1. Healthy Exercise

Regular physical exercise is a great way to keep healthy in itself.  The benefits of keeping fit, whatever age you are, is well documented and a healthy body will certainly help in the quest to keep acne at bay. All forms of exercise can be undertaken and I would especially recommend outdoor activities. The fresh air and vitamin D derived from the sunlight are both beneficial in preventing acne.

2. Make-up, Cosmetics and Perfumes!!!

This is a pretty obvious one, so try to avoid facial cosmetics and make-up if you can.  These products tend to clogg up the pores and cause skin irritations that can contribute to acne outbreaks. Beware of perfumes and after shave lotions as again these may contain irritants that can increase the incidence of an acne outbreak. I know this may be difficult for many of you, so if you feel you must use cosmetics then be sparing in their application and thoroughly wast your face at the end of the day. Use non-perfumed soaps when washing.

3. Diet and Vitamins

There are differing opinions concerning the impact of your diet on acne.  It is true to say however, that the healthier you are the better able your body will be to cope with and indeed prevent acne. A well balanced diet containing fruit and vegetables should be part of your daily regime in any case. Added vitamins, minerals and other supplements will also be beneficial in you war against acne.

4. Washing and Hygiene

It is, of course, important to keep your skin clean and healthy at all times. However I would not advocate hard scrubbing or over-washing. This could cause skin irritation and an over production of the natural oils found on the body. This over production of oil is produced to replace what has been washed off and as a consequence the pores get clogged again in the process adding to the cycle of events!

5. Drink Water

Again this may seem to be pretty obvious, but it is surprising how many people do not drink sufficient water throughout the day.  You must rehydrate the body regularly. I would suggest drinking 6/8 glasses of water each and every day. The benefits to the body as a whole are enormous, but in rehydrating the body the skin will remain in a good healthy condition.  An essential requirement for dealing with acne.

If you can follow these tips and it is not hard to do so, I would suggest you will be well on the way to discovering how to clear acne

Good luck
